SITA’s Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provides on-demand hosting and application services specifically designed for the air transport industry (ATI). 

Scalable and customized

Infrastructure-as-a-Service delivers scalable and on-demand computing resources from SITA’s three regional data centers. You can design and manage your own virtual server hosting solution to cover specific needs, just as if the hardware were on your site. 

Regional hosting

Infrastructure-as-a-Service offers regional hosting that guarantees efficient communication services to your outstations. Examples of regionally hosted applications include web proxy, software distribution, call management and system monitoring.

Network presence

With connectivity in more than 160 airports, SITA can host applications with access to airports systems – such as terminals, gates, parking or other infrastructures.

How it works

Infrastructure-as-a-Service’s virtual server hosting is simply realized by selecting and defining the required service options:

  1. Select the virtual server hosting location
  2. Choose and design connectivity (IP VPN, Internet, AirportHub)
  3. Size the hosting capacity based on virtual CPUs, memory and storage
  4. Rapid service provisioning over the on-line service catalogue: instantly for virtual machine add-on and changes.
  5. Customize the network security and performance (firewalling, content delivery)

Support is provided 24x7 and there is a target of four hours recovery time in the event of computing resource failure.

The online self-service tools give server administrators the ability to create, modify and remove virtual machines, while the virtual servers are based on VMware technology, allowing simple migration for customers already running VMware Hypervisor.
