Ian Ryder is VP, Business Transformation for SITA’s Air Travel Solutions business division, where he has a special focus on transformation for airline operations solutions. 

Ian joined SITA in 1985 and has more than 30 years of experience in strategy, business planning and solution and service implementation for airline commercial operations, direct sales and service applications. Since 2015 Ian has worked across SITA’s wider airline and airport businesses to identify and incubate new service offerings. Ian holds a BA Hons degree from Durham University in the UK. He is based in London.

This question was hotly debated by a group of us over coffee in Atlanta last week. Clearly, technology, lifestyles and customer expectations are forcing rapid change on airlines - but is this innovation bypassing core functions such as reservations and DCS? Are they becoming a commodity?
