Martin Smillie was appointed Senior Vice President, Communications and Data Exchange, SITA, in March 2021.
Martin is responsible for delivering next-generation solutions that harness the potential of the cloud, data, IoT, SDN, and omnichannel contact centers, helping the air transport industry (ATI) to automate and optimize its communications and data exchange operations.
A key focus for Martin is to accelerate the development of new solutions that allow SITA to continue to lead the market. The role includes helping customers to become more efficient and better able to serve their passengers. Martin is steering this core part of SITA’s business to continued success, securing the organization’s leadership as a trusted and innovative partner.
Martin brings significant experience and knowledge to SITA, joining SITA from TDC Group in Copenhagen, where he was Director, Group Data and Security. He has over 25 years of experience in senior roles in the IT and telecoms industry, having worked in-house and as a consultant for organizations like Huawei, Verizon, and BT Global Services.
