FlightPredictor

Improving predictability of airline and airport flight movements

Overview

FlightPredictor is an application designed for airlines and airport operators to help proactively manage Irregular Operations (IROPS).  By improving the predictability of flight movements, airlines and airports can better plan the allocation of assets and resources to serve flights during the day of operation.  With FlightPredictor’s unique approach, long look-ahead windows of up to 24 hours are possible for airport users, increasing to 72 hours out for airline users.

How it helps

Flight disruption results in significant costs to the air transport industry (ATI).  Global on-time performance (OTP) figures show around 1 out of every 4 flights arrives more than 15 minutes behind schedule. Airlines alone spend in excess of USD$25 billion per year as a result of poor OTP.

And it’s not just about delayed flights.  While early arriving flights may be good news for passengers, this can be just as disruptive to the resourcing challenges faced by airport operators.

FlightPredictor uses years’ worth of historical flight movement, weather and air traffic control data to train the latest Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) platforms to provide an accurate flight prediction service.  This cutting-edge technology is available for users to access via an intuitive web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) or an Application Programming Interface (API) for easy integration with an operator’s existing systems.

By using FlightPredictor, users can identify potential problems and put recovery actions in place early. This enables a shift from a traditional reactive response to flight disruption, to proactive management of flight movements forecast to deviate from schedule.
