CUTE (MDNS)

Enabling secure access between the world’s major airports, airline host systems and common, airport services

CUTE (MDNS) enables access from airport-based SITA AirportConnect CUTE workstations to airline legacy host departure control or reservation systems over a common, IP infrastructure.

Overview

As airlines migrate to IP, they need the ability to continue using airline protocols to link legacy terminals on CUTE to departure control or reservation systems - while using a reliable IP network to reach host applications and systems. Therefore airlines need:

  • Cost-effective support for legacy systems
  • Continued legacy support during migration
  • Reliable network service
  • Sustainable legacy service where required

SITA meets these needs simply and cost-effectively with CUTE (MDNS). Built on SITA’s AirportConnectNet, a community IP Network that inter-connects many of the world’s airports, these services provide legacy over IP and generic IP access between airports, airline hosts and airport services, including support for airport services such as CUTE, Bag Message and Bag Manager.

Benefits

CUTE (MDNS) supports airline protocols encapsulated in IP. Other key benefits include:

  • Connection times and costs are reduced
  • CUTE workstations can be migrated from a legacy environment
  • Application performance is maximized for business-critical applications

Features

CUTE (MDNS) features:

  • Is delivered from AirportConnectNet, a community network based on scalable IP solutions
  • Requires virtually no reconfiguration at the airline host in order to migrate to CUTE (MDNS)
  • Traffic-insensitive pricing model

About AirportConnectNet

  • AirportConnectNet is the community IP network supporting CUTE (MDNS)
  • It links over 200 major airports worldwide
  • Mission-critical configuration at main airport to provide near 100 percent service availability; access backup at satellite airports
  • Airport devices are remotely supported by SITA 24x7

In addition, AirportConnectNet enables access to:

  • BagManager from airport equipment
  • BagMessage from airport equipment and airline hosts systems
  • WorldTracer from airport-based terminals
