Airport iValidate

Providing automated validation of BCBP to help manage passenger flow through security

Airports are looking to reduce congestion and improve passenger experience. Do both with SITA's Airport iValidate.

Airport iValidate is an extension of the AirportConnect Open common-use platform that supports the automated validation of bar-coded boarding passes (BCBP). This improves passenger processing and enhances security.

Overview

Scan paper and mobile BCBPs

Airport iValidate provides security officers with the ability to scan both paper and mobile BCBPs. The contents of the bar code are displayed to the agent for visual validation against the passenger's travel documentation.

In addition, the boarding pass is checked for duplicates and validated against flight information within the AODB.

BCBP validation includes checks for the correct airport, terminal and security checkpoint relative to the gate, as well as valid flight number and appropriate date and time.

Benefits

Airport iValidate provides the following benefits

  • Improved security with greater consistency through automation
  • Increased speed of passenger processing due to automated validation
  • Ease of use, through an intuitive graphical user interface
  • Complementing SITA's offering for automated security screening and passenger processing areas:
    • AODB/FIDS
