Every year SITA recognizes those members celebrating key membership milestones and for their continued contribution to the organization.
In 2016 several long-standing SITA members were officially recognized for achieving major membership milestones at the annual Air Transport IT Summit, held in Barcelona in May.
United Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Meridiana all celebrated their 50th anniversaries while Pakistan International Airlines and Middle East Airlines-Air Liban have been SITA members for 60 years.
“These awards really bring home the community spirit within our industry and the continuous desire to work together through organizations like SITA, to make the industry better for both big and small”, Jappe Blaauw, President of the SITA Council.

On July 18th, Aeromar, one of Mexico’s longest serving airlines, operating in Mexico uninterruptedly for more than 27 years, received an award in recognition of its 25 years of SITA membership.
The award was presented to Alfonso Acosta Pedregal (General Manager of Aeromar) by Luis Gallardo, SITA. It marked the airline’s long association with SITA and the contribution of both to the community.
Commenting on the award, Pedregal said "We are happy to have been collaborating with SITA for the past 25 years and to be the executive airline of Mexico, preferred and recognized by its customers as a leader in safety, on time performance and quality of service."
