SITAONAIR’s Connected Aircraft solutions set the benchmark for true ‘Nose-to-Tail’ solutions and help airlines innovate to meet the changing needs of their passengers and employees. This enables airlines to achieve their strategic goals by growing ancillary revenue, as well as improving safety, passenger experience and operational efficiency.
What are Connected Aircraft solutions?
Connected Aircraft solutions are the technology, applications and services that enable end users to create value for airlines through connectivity of aircraft – regardless of fleet size, route structure or aircraft type. These solutions are created in partnership with airlines, OEMs and airframers, to ensure they truly address the challenges and value-generating opportunities of the air travel industry.
What is the history of SITAONAIR?
SITAONAIR was born to drive new thinking and address challenges airlines face in ground and inflight connectivity, cockpit data services and air traffic management solutions, aircraft communications and infrastructure solutions, as well as application development for both passengers and crew.
It is a fully owned subsidiary of SITA, originally incorporated as a joint venture with Airbus in February 2005. In February 2013, Airbus sold its 33% final stake to SITA, then in January 2015, SITA and OnAir formed SITAONAIR as part of the SITA Group to help airlines realize the full potential of the connected aircraft. This combined SITA’s proven knowledge of airline communications and IT, and OnAir’s expertise in supplying in-flight connectivity.
