SITA opens 4th annual Airport Innovation Forum in Atlanta

Location: Atlanta, USA
16 July 2018

Joins aviation leaders to discuss what’s next in aviation

SITA, the air transport industry’s technology provider, is hosting the P3 Innovation Solution Summit during the 4th Annual Airport Innovation Forum in Atlanta this week. The interactive session will explore how airlines, airports, government partners and other industry stakeholders are applying new technologies to efficiently and effectively mitigate some of today’s most pressing challenges, including identity management, cyber security, flight disruption, and more.

Diana Einterz, SITA President, Americas, notes: “The emergence and application of new technologies such as biometrics, blockchain and artificial intelligence are redefining how we travel. We are excited to bring the air transport community together to discuss what’s next on the horizon and how we can better collaborate to drive an exceptional passenger experience.”

The opening panel will feature experts from Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, Delta Air Lines, the Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration, and will focus on the importance of public and private partnerships to successfully drive greater efficiencies through innovation. Attendees will then participate in breakout sessions highlighting new approaches to growing challenges, such as implementing a paperless, biometric journey; preparing for cyber threats; and minimizing the cost of flight disruption through artificial intelligence.

SITA Lab, SITA's strategic technology research arm located in Atlanta, is working with airlines and airports to create many world-firsts in air travel – from the first exit check using just facial biometrics to the use of intelligence machines such as KATE, an autonomous check-in kiosk.

“As home to the world's most traveled airport, one of the world's largest airlines and the world's leading specialist in air transport technology, there is truly no better place to host the Annual Airport Innovation Forum than Atlanta. This event will showcase what we as an industry – and in Atlanta – are doing to shape the future travel experience and provide a hub for aviation innovation,” said Dawn Gregory, Head of Innovation for the Atlanta Airport.

The 4th Annual Airport Innovation Forum takes place from 16-18 July 2018 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Buckhead.
