The first Aviation Cybersecurity Symposium took place in London in April 2016. The symposium was attended by 25 delegates, including Chief Information Security Officers from major Tier 1 airlines and airports from across the world.
As well as attendees from air transport, the event brought together speakers from specialized security firms, security researchers and the public sector. In doing so, it offered a unique opportunity to share and understand common cybersecurity challenges faced by the industry on a day to day basis.
There are a number of challenges the industry has to overcome related to cyber threats, which will form the basis of further discussions.
Following the event SITA has formed an Aviation Cybersecurity Working Group comprised of delegates attending the Symposium. Together they are working towards the greater collaboration and data sharing envisaged for the Cyber Threat Center.
