Digital Sky Challenge

Digital Sky Challenge ACI EUROPE and SESAR JU along with multiple aviation organizations and stakeholders, including EUROCONTROL, EASA and IATA, plus a number of aviation project partners are joining forces to launch and host the Digital Sky Challenge.

Partners for the event will be challenging participants to solve real and pressing technology and business problems through a 48-hour innovation sprint. The aim is to create new digital technologies that will help meet the future needs of the European aviation system. With a focus on capacity, safety, efficiency and environmental impact, participants are being challenged to develop new digital solutions in three key areas – passenger experience, environment and safety.

The event will take place on December 2-4, 2019, hosted by Athens Airport in Athens. Winners will be announced on December 4th.

SITA, in its role of  Aviation Project Partner, will be supplying the APIs and data for the challenge. Developers and data scientists will be able to tap into a rich store of aviation data for passenger experience, airport management, flight operations and the connected aircraft. Registration is now open and interested parties should register by October 18. Find out more at the event website.

A week of meetings and breakthroughs

In addition to the innovation challenge, there will be other events taking place during the week of December 2–6. Why not take the opportunity to attend the SESAR Innovation Day Conference at the National Centre of Scientific Research (CNRS) to hear about the latest aviation findings or the Athens annual Airport CEO's Symposium on December 4?
