Eight new members join SITA’s thriving community

Key milestones celebrated from Brussels to Beijing

It has been a busy year for SITA’s more than 400 members with eight new airlines and airports joining SITA while five of our long-standing members celebrated some significant milestones.

During 2017, SITA welcomed Mistral Air (Italy), Hamad International Airport (Qatar), 9 Air (China) and Sundair (Germany), Capital Airports Holding Company (China), Etihad Regional (Switzerland), Bhutan Airlines (Bhutan) and Air Mediterranean (Greece) as new members, representing a wide spread of industry players from across the globe.

At the Air Transport IT Summit in Brussels in May we also handed over 60th anniversary awards to South African Airways, Royal Air Maroc and Finnair while Thomson Airways and China Airlines were on hand to receive their 50th anniversary awards.

In July SITA used the China Innovation Day to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Xiamen Airport Group while formally welcoming Hebei Airlines and West Air after their admission as members late last year.

“It is great to see such robust participation and growth of our members from around the world. Their involvement plays a key role in shaping the way SITA delivers technology that will help our industry transform, making it more efficient and welcoming to the passenger in the next decade and beyond,” said SITA Council President, Jappe Blaauw.
