Working as a SITA intern is one of the best experiences I had as a student. As we all know, time flies when you’re having fun. I never realized how fast these 12 weeks have passed by. Every day is a different experience. Work never seemed to be like work. Instead I felt it was interesting and fun. Every new idea of mine was considered and discussed. I really love the attitude of the senior developers working here. They were always motivated and energetic to work with. This made my work environment focused and creative. And it wasn't all work and no play. SITA arranged some fun events. One of the best outings we had was playing golf in teams where all the team members were from other departments. I spent some great time playing with new people and learning about the kind of work done by other departments.
I worked as a Software Developer Intern on a very interesting project. I developed a C# library which could be used to convert a live audio stream or a static wav file to its text content. I also added a few machine learning API’s to bring out the best results. We built it all from scratch. The best thing about what we created is that it could be used in a wide range of applications. It’s pretty extensible and scalable.
I learned to write code in a better way during my internship. Debugging applications is an art! I learned the art of debugging from my senior developers. This made me write better code simpler and faster than I ever could. I can say with confidence that my logical flow of code has become clearer after being a SITA intern.
The time spent at SITA was memorable and fun. From other fellow developers, I learned how to have a proper work-life balance and to really work as a team. This was a quality experience that has helped to instill a high work ethic within me. The best lesson I learned while interning at SITA is that learning is a process and one needs to be open to learning at all ages.
I really thank SITA for giving me this great opportunity to work as an intern. I’m grateful that I was given a chance to prove myself and be a part of SITA.
