I am participating in a yearlong internship as a Commercial and Contract Management intern for PSL. My main duties are to create purchase orders and receipt invoices. The big project they have me doing is to create a database system for the department. This database will be used to store supplier information, purchase orders and financial forecasts that can be used to create reports for presentations.
The most interesting part about this internship is that no one is hovering over my shoulder as I do my job. Although I am a brand-new employee my superiors trust me and provide help when needed.
The best time at SITA is when we have our monthly breakfast club days. Every month a new coworker brings in breakfast for the team and we bond and talk in the morning together. The best lesson I have learned while here is being able to have a real-life experience of what I learned in college (Accounting minor). I have a much better understanding now which is exactly what I hoped to get from participating in this internship.
