Director Operational Excellence, Manchester Airports Group

Currently Director Operational Excellence for Manchester Airports Group (MAG) Clare is responsible for long-term operational strategies for the airports including Future Security Programme, the Connected Operation Programme, resource deployment, collaboration with third parties, business continuity and the technology that underpins the airport operation.

Clare has had a long career in aviation operations. Clare joined MAG in January 2019 from NATS where she held a number of roles including Group Customer Account Director, responsible for the operation of Air Traffic Control across many major UK airports, including Manchester and London Stansted.  Previously she was the Director Airfield Services for Serco, providing leadership and oversight to a diverse portfolio of contracts across the UK, encompassing ATC, Fire and Airfield Support Services provision. Prior to joining Serco in August 2013 Clare had a very successful career in the Royal Air Force; following a number of tours in the UK and abroad, she was the Senior Air Traffic Control Officer at the MODs largest operating base; Brize Norton; and the Officer Commanding the Central Air Traffic Control School. She also completed roles in the Strategic Planning Department of the RAF headquarters reporting directly to the Chief of the Air Staff.  She completed her Royal Air Force career as the Head of Regulation helping to establish the Military Aviation Authority.
