Trends in enabling technologies
During the first day of presentations and panel discussions (25 May), we explored key enabling technologies on the rise.
We took an in-depth look at those technologies and innovations set to play the biggest underlying role in transforming on our industry over the next five years, such as identity management, low cost connectivity and cybersecurity.
We heard the perspectives of technologists, innovators, providers, airlines and airports who are coming to terms with what’s possible with these emerging technologies, and their potential in helping us to be smarter across every stage of the passenger journey.
We contemplated the need for new, creative thinking in planning for and responding to the quickening pace of technology development and innovation. And we heard about new projects and trials underway, along with the pitfalls and the lessons learned.
Smarter at every step
On the second day (26 May) of our presentations and panel discussions, we heard about the opportunities, approaches and issues from the perspective of technology leaders and air transport industry CEOs and CIOs.
As we strive for the ever smarter journey, at every step, we looked at:
- How we use technology to gain deeper insights into traveler behavior, operations management and business performance
- How we continue to make ‘life on the go’ much easier for travelers
- How we embrace increasingly smart devices and technologies to advance our ways of working, realizing benefits for our own organizations as well as the wider air transport industry
