David Rowan is editor of the UK edition of WIRED magazine, Conde Nast’s award-winning technology-and-innovations magazine that stays ahead of the trends transforming our world. He’s taken 120 flights in the past year to investigate the companies and entrepreneurs changing our world, recently spending time with the founders of WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Google, Spotify, Nest and countless other disruptive start-ups from Tel Aviv to Shenzhen.

David has interviewed influencers ranging from will.i.am to James Murdoch, Zaha Hadid to David Cameron. He has keynoted on technology, business and innovation themes from Melbourne to Monaco, and has chaired and moderated high-profile events for the UK and French governments, for Google Zeitgeist and TED Global, and for international banks and Fortune 100 businesses.

David speaks widely on topics ranging from the future of luxury brands to the new rules of business in a mobile-internet age; from technology megatrends to creating a culture of innovation. In particular, he aims to make the rapid advances in technology comprehensible to a wider audience. A brilliant story-teller, his presentations help businesses comprehend these changes in such a way as to allow them to use them to their advantage.

His most recent awards include Techmark Technology Journalist of the Year, DMA Editor of the Year and British Society of Magazine Editors’ Editor of the Year. He has written regular columns in GQ, Condé Nast Traveller, Campaign, The Times and The Guardian. He has wide newspaper experience as an editor, including editing The Jewish Chronicle and The Guardian’s websites and comment pages; has made TV films for Channel 4 News; and has written long features for The Telegraph Magazine, Sunday Times Magazine and Observer. At WIRED he has extended the brand into conferences, apps, and a consulting arm.
