Bob has been part of the International Air Transport Association’s Security and Facilitation team since November 1995, and currently serves as Global Head, Aviation Facilitation.  In this capacity, he has responsibilities for maintaining general oversight of IATA’s facilitation policy, assisting in the development of global standards and developing industry responses to governments’ regulations applied to the processing, clearance and control of both passengers and goods.  Overall, Bob has nearly 32 years of experience supporting both domestic and international civil aviation.

Mr. Davidson’s primary focus includes border control process evaluation, data exchange (API and PNR) programs for passengers and crew, education and outreach, capacity/throughput enhancement and alignment of national border control regulations with internationally agreed standards and best practices. 

In addition to working with member airlines and various governments on an ongoing basis, he is also a regular contributor to and participant in the work of various airline trade associations, as well as being active in the work of a number of intergovernmental organizations, including the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), the European Commission, the World Customs Organization, the International Civil Aviation Organization and most recently, the UN-Counter Terrorism Committee in its efforts to combat the movement of foreign terrorist fighters.
