Q. Why is this survey necessary?
A. The availability and consistency of quality aviation training across Africa has been identified as a key factor for the sustained improvement of aviation safety in Africa. This survey is a first step in gathering vital data on existing aviation training capacity and capability in Africa, as well as current and future demand. The aggregated results of the survey will be used to develop a master plan for harmonization of training in Africa as well as rationalization of training resources.

Q. Why should I participate in the survey?
A. Your participation will help identify aviation training strengths and possible areas for future cooperation across Africa. It will also help identify gaps in aviation training capacity and capability across Africa. This survey will enable the development of an ICAO database of training providers and customers, accessible to all contributors.

Q. Who should complete the survey?
A. The person best-placed within the organization to provide the information requested. Depending on the organization, it could be the training/human resources or department/divisional manager or within the office of CEO/MD. In some instances you may need to consult with colleagues to obtain answers.

Q. Who will have access to the data I provide?
A. The consultancy team of SITA will process the data, develop a database, and provide an analysis to the ICAO-ACIP (Comprehensive Regional Implementation Plan for Aviation Safety in Africa) Working Group. In addition, all participating respondents will receive the summary analysis, of the findings. The data will be securely stored and under the management of ICAO-ACIP.

Q. There are some questions I do not fully understand, who can I talk to for clarification?
A. SITA has local representatives who can assist with any queries you may have. In the first instance, we recommend you speak to one of managers on this project whose details are provided below. They will then either answer your query directly or put you in touch with a representative near you who is fully briefed to assist.

A. We request that you treat this survey as a fresh response, and input the latest information you have. Your previous responses were valuable and have not been wasted. They have helped us identify vital additional information requirements.
