Departure Control Services

Automated passenger check-in and boarding

SITA’s Departure Control Services (DCS) is a fully integrated multi-host system for automated passenger check-in, boarding pass issuance and bag tag printing. DCS also offers interline-through-check-in and new generation weight and balance capabilities.

DCS complies with all standard IATA messages, accepts lists from any reservations system and can interface with all varieties of electronic ticketing databases.

DCS is compatible with other SITA systems such as Reservations and Ticketing and is also fully functional as a stand-alone system which is ideal for ground handlers.

How it works

DCS is suited for both airlines and ground handlers. The interface uses drag-and-drop functionality and offers shared seat maps.

DCS offers easy integration to IATA-standard peripherals and is automated so as to avoid manual entry errors or dispatch delays.

Automatic flight initialization can be used up to 72 hours in advance, and is controlled through a real-time interface to SITA’s Reservations by utilizing the customer journey record or any other reservations system via a passenger name list.

DCS comes with built-in message addressing, group handling and numeric check-in capabilities. Boarding controls also allow for checked-in passengers to be monitored via technologies such as gate readers using magnetic stripes and 2D barcodes.

Weight and balance functionality follows IATA-recommended practices that govern acceptance of operational data by load control systems and it also provides automated load distribution for any aircraft type.
