Professional Mobile Radio (PMR)
Integration of modern surveillance and access control systems
Enhance airport security through SITA Professional Mobile Radio (PMR).
Overview
Radio communication plays a major role in the security, operations and safety of a large airport. SITA offers the best Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) solution tailored to an airport’s requirements.
Passenger increases, pressure from low cost carriers, regional airport growth, competition, increase in fuel and staff costs and larger aircraft will impact the existing infrastructure. These factors require comprehensive optimization of all airport operational processes. In addition, recent world events marked a new era in security and safety demands.
Integration of airport IT systems and PMR technology will provide short term gains in efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Co-ordination of all stakeholders in operations and security can only be achieved with the help of a highly efficient and flexible mobile radio system. A modern radio solution offers airport operators, airlines and security organizations the possibility of conducting all their tasks on a single platform.

More information about features
Trunked radio versus conventional radio
A modern trunked radio system dynamically assigns radio channels to subscribers for the duration of a call. Trunking increases traffic capacity, allowing more information to be transmitted over the same radio bandwidth.
Fixed and dynamic user groups
Group call features include pre-defined communication groups and groups which can be assigned dynamically, as processes or deployment of resources dictate.
Flight-oriented dialling
This enables immediate communications between all personnel involved in the turnaround of an aircraft at the gate. By dialling the flight number, each individual member (i.e., ramp agent, load master, cargo, catering or cleaning) can be contacted via simple task code and the flight number.
Smooth migration
Many airports are equipped with expensive in-house systems. SITA ensures a graceful migration path and maximizes the re-use of the existing systems.
