AirportHandling Manager
Making sure airports and handlers have the right resources available at the right time and in the right place
In the high-pressure ground-handling environment, quick decisions are needed. Successful ground handling in today’s modern airports requires sophisticated capacity and resource management.
AirportHandling Manager is an expert software tool for airports and handlers to plan, schedule and manage mobile ground resources. The system supports the management of staff and mobile ramp equipment from the capacity resource planning level down to detailed task allocation.
Overview
AirportHandling Manager consists of four modules: Ground Resource Planner, Shift Planner, Roster Manager, Job Manager.
Ground Resource Planner
Assists in making strategic decisions, such as the number of mobile ground resources needed for the next season.
Shift Planner
Takes the demand curves calculated in the Resource Planner and allows shift profiles to be fitted over the demand curves, minimizing the staff levels required. This module can determine optimum levels for daily shift periods in the planning date range or create a shift system based on human resource demand.
Roster Manager
Allocates individual staff members to a work roster, taking into account demand as calculated using Shift Planner, plus applicable labour legislation, regulations and agreements, staff holidays, training and staff preferences. Employees can view their rosters and request shift swaps.
Job Manager
Allocates staff, task teams and critical equipment to flights and work areas in short-term operational environments based on service level agreements or internal rules.
Job Manager can help resolve conflicts when changes in demand occur by communicating directly with staff in the field. It can also assist radio dispatchers through the “Voice Communications” screen, which provides prompts for outgoing messages and a quick lookup of tasks based on employee call signs.
