Successful ticketing migration and new O&D Inventory Management capabilities for Czech Airlines

A major milestone has been reached in SITA's ongoing project with Czech Airlines, announced in July 2009, with the successful migration of the airline's ticketing processes to SITA e-ticketing. Additionally, SITA has enabled the airline to move to a full Origin and Destination based inventory and revenue management model by linking the SITA Inventory system with PROS revenue management solution.

The e-ticketing implementation, which includes the ability to issue e-tickets for interline travel with 59 carriers, including members of the SkyTeam Alliance, was a great success with the flawless migration of the airline's 814,000 ticket database, completed with minimal downtime as a result of a two step program.

In a related project, SITA Departure Control Services have now been implemented in a number of pilot cities across the Czech Republic, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. As part of the project, Czech can check-in passengers with interline e-tickets and interline through check-in has been enabled with Air France, Delta and other SkyTeam members.

SITA's Inventory system has been enhanced with a new interface to the PROS Revenue Management system, which enables the airline to operate full Origin and Destination based inventory and revenue management ('O&D'). Czech Airlines now has improved control of its inventory, based on a complete picture of inventory and market conditions.

Brian Cook, vice president, SITA Passenger Services, said, "This is another successful implementation project for SITA and smooth migration experience for our customer, Czech Airlines. We are delighted to provide new O&D Inventory Management capabilities enabling Czech to meet its business objectives. Other airlines hosted on SITA Inventory will now be able to take advantage of this capability".

Jaroslav Kafka, CIO, Czech Airlines, said "Access to sophisticated inventory and revenue management processes will improve our yield and profitability, for each flight, system wide. We anticipate revenues increases of up to 3-4% each year which are typical when this kind of an O&D solution is implemented."
