Working Group for Environmental Regulation Implementation
The SITA Working Group for Environmental Regulation Implementation (WG ERI) currently consists of 24 airlines. The group's first meeting took place on 30 October 2008 in Geneva, in the presence of the EU Commission.
WG ERI objectives
- Reduce industry costs related to implementation of environmental regulation. Share understanding, experience and know-how of environmental regulations.
- Develop a coherent strategy for implementing environmental regulatory matters for all stakeholders, leading to operational and regulatory effectiveness.
- Reduce verification costs and litigation frequency between airlines and regulators, ensuring competitive fairness among all stakeholders.
Tactics to achieve objectives
- Assessing operational impact and associated costs
- Developing common terminology, processes, guidelines and best practices
- Creating a knowledge center to support all aspects of environmental regulation implementation
