SITA and Inter-Airline Through Check-In (IATCI)
IATCI covers all aspects of local check-in, flight close and flight management for implementation guidelines
Inter-Airline Through Check-In (IATCI) is an independent group which provides implementation guidelines for the IATA/ATA EDIFACT data dictionary, covering all aspects of inter-airline through check-in. Special considerations include the various host systems to determine technical data exchange.
SITA joins eight service providers and 45 airlines around the world as regular members of IATCI. Regula members set the EDIFACT data rules for passenger check-in. Additionally, there are 24 associate members of IATCI.
SITA activities with IATCI
As a host for 50 SITA Departure Control System (SDCS) service providers and airlines, SITA's representation in IATCI is vital. SDCS customers are encouraged to attend meetings, held every 12-18 months.
SITA and IATCI:
- Encourage adherence to uniform standards and awareness of best practices
- Facilitate multilateral agreements
- Assist in bilateral agreements by maintaining and developing a standard set of documented rules and recommendations
