SITA and GAP partnership

SITA spread its presence in Mexico, winning two important sites: Guadalajara, the third most important airport in Mexico and Puerto Vallarta, both operated by Grupo Aeroportuario Pacifico (GAP).

The success of this project can be seen in two phases: Bid and Delivery.

During the bid phase, key factors included:

  • Great relationship with the customer. GAP was satisfied with our service at other airports in Mexico.
  • Cost optimization: creative ways were used to come up with a cost effective solution for GAP, among others: re-utilization of existing equipment and infrastructure and extension of contract terms in order to reduce total monthly price.

We had a challenge with migration as the termination of the former provider contract was on a very tight deadline of 40 days.

The success of delivery depended mostly on the following factors:

  • Definition of responsibilities and dependencies stated clearly during Kick-off
  • Airlines' involvement to order circuits and configure host
  • Addressing customer's responsibilities like LAN, WAN, millwork, etc.
  • Commitment from all players
  • Innovative technical solutions counting on BOH support
  • Full involvement and commitment from SITA and technicians from other GAP sites with experience on the same environment

Each happy customer is a success story for us and our burgeoning partnership with GAP.

SITA proudly offers 24 x 7 global support to enhance operational reliability and efficiency in Latin America.
