Liberalization and aviation market crisis

Reduce costs by improving efficiency. Strategies for the air transport of tomorrow.

Last year's deep economic crisis, together with global events that paralyzed the air transport industry in the early part of 2010, have caused enormous losses in particular to airlines, while also highlighting the need for the industry to develop common strategies in the medium and long periods.

The economic uncertainty has made it necessary to reduce operational costs; however, this reduction must be accompanied by new strategies, able to envisage the use of new technologies to cope with the increase of passenger numbers expected by 2030. New strategies need to actively involve carriers, airports and air traffic control, which will be highly innovated with the creation of the Single European Sky.

The SITA Bologna University Conference aims to compare current experiences and future strategies, opening the debate between airlines, airports and industry bodies.
