Simplify your journey at KLIA
Passengers travelling through Kuala Lumpur International Airport will soon have an insight into the benefits of IATA's Simplifying the Business (StB) programme.
Starting in June, both the airport and national carrier Malaysia Airlines will showcase their adoption of StB.
The opening of the showcase, to be located in departures, will coincide with IATA's Annual General Meeting, in Kuala Lumpur on June 7-9. Implementation is possible through infrastructure provided by SITA, working closely with the airline and airport.
StB makes life easier for travellers through:
- IATA standard 2D bar coded boarding passes. These are accessible via the web, a kiosk, a check-in desk or a mobile phone - so passengers can avoid long lines and get their boarding pass before arriving at the airport.
- The Baggage Improvement Programme (BIP). This helps to ensure that passengers are reunited with their bags.
- The Fast Travel programme. This introduces self-service options in the airport, such as self-service kiosks at check-in enabling passengers to print their own boarding passes, as well as baggage tags for their checked baggage - so they can drop off luggage at a bag drop counter.
