Indonesia Aviation IT Forum

SITA hosted the first of its kind IT forum for the Indonesia aviation community

The Indonesia Aviation IT Forum took place in Jakarta on the 3 November 2010. The forum, co-presented with INACA and hosted by SITA, was a welcomed by members of the industry with participants from government agencies, local and international airlines, airport operators and ground handling companies.

Themed "the future of Indonesia aviation and the role of IT", the forum was officially opened by guest-of-honor Minister Freddy Numberi, Minister of Transport Indonesia, to a full capacity audience.

Topics discussed at the day-long forum included: how technology can enhance the passenger experience; using IT to improve efficiency at airports; and balancing security needs with passenger comfort. A high-level line-up of speakers includes industry experts Herry Bakti, Director General of Civil Aviation, Philippe Truchet, Country Manager of Indonesia for the International Air Transport Association, and Damian Hickey, Regional Vice President of South Asia and India, SITA.

Two workshops with different tracks for airlines and airports operators were also held where delegates and speakers engaged in lively exchange of ideas on how technologies can help deliver business transformation and achieve operational efficiencies.
