Systems integration drives Dublin Airport's growth and helps Kharkiv prepare for Euro 2012

Dublin Airport's growth driven by systems integration

The Dublin Airport Authority has signed a major Master Systems Integration contract with SITA for Dublin Airport's new €395 million Terminal Two.

SITA will act as systems integrator for the specialist IT and communications systems for the new terminal, which is scheduled to open in November 2010.

The terminal will increase current capacity significantly at the airport allowing it to handle more than 30 million passengers a year using IT solutions and applications to maximize efficiency and improve the quality of the passengers' time in the airport.

The terminal will also include new facilities to allow passengers to clear US Customs and Immigration before leaving Ireland.

Declan Collier, CEO, Dublin Airport Authority, said: "Our investment in infrastructure will transform the passenger experience at Dublin airport. We are delighted that a company of SITA's experience and expertise has come through the selection process to manage the systems implementation at the new terminal and help the DAA ensure Dublin airport operates at the highest international levels and is a world-class gateway to Ireland."

Integration project to support Kharkiv Airport's Euro 2012

Ukraine's Kharkiv International Airport's new US$ 205 million terminal will deploy fully integrated IT systems from SITA to help handle up to 1,000 football fans an hour at peak arrival and departure periods during Euro 2012, the UEFA football tournament.

SITA signed a US$ 9 million airport systems integration contract with New Systems AM, a member of the DCH Group and a handling agent for Kharkiv International Airport.

The new terminal will begin operation in April 2010, with all applications running on a common network infrastructure including check-in, boarding, baggage management, security and access control.

Commenting on the project Vladimir Vasilchenko, Director General, New Systems AM (DCH Group), said: "We expect that it will not only double our capacity and modernize our information systems but ensure a very good process flow for all arriving and departing passengers particularly during Euro 2012."
