Aeroflot hails success of systems integration

In November 2009, Aeroflot celebrated its first flight from Terminal D at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport -- following Eastern Europe's largest-ever airport systems integration project. This included migrating all Aeroflot's 148 domestic and international flights and a further 16 Aeroflot Nord flights and seven DonAvia flights to the new terminal.
Equipped with SITA advanced IT systems, the new terminal can handle 5,000+ passengers per hour. Passengers also enjoy speedy self-service check-in, dedicated bag drop areas and 100% passenger-bag reconciliation.
Said Oleg Volkov, Deputy IT Director of Aeroflot: "SITA's integrated technology is bringing significant benefits to our airline operations and passenger services. Having all our flights, domestic and international, operating from the one terminal will be a huge advantage and facilitates the delivery of a very high level of self-service to our passengers, through all phases of the journey from check-in to boarding to bag management."
