In June, customers voted SITA the Best Airport IT Service Provider award for the second consecutive year at the Emerging Markers Airports Awards, which honor industry players across the Middle East, Africa, the Indian sub-continent, Russia, CIS and the Baltic States. The result was in line with a worldwide customer satisfaction rating for SITA last year of 98%. In the same month, SITA was also named the Airport IT Solutions Provider of the Year at the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace and Defense Awards, after having previously won a similar Frost & Sullivan award in 2009.

"As Asia Pacific's leading technology solutions provider in the airport industry, SITA has assisted many of their customers to improve their business efficiency through the use of cost-effective technologies. Its industry experience and strategic know-how makes them one of the most highly sought after IT partners."

A winning portfolio

Both IT Provider of the Year Awards resulted from in-depth scrutiny of SITA's solutions suite, its track record in innovation and its presence in the market. Another major factor was how SITA is making the intelligent airport concept a reality for existing customers of its Airport Management Systems, tracking and tracing solutions for bag management, its AirportConnect check-in and boarding platform and its emphasis on passenger mobile services and workforce mobility.

"Improving customer service and reducing the cost of doing business are the key drivers behind the development of the Intelligent Airport vision. We are in the middle of a great change in airport operations with the elimination of manual processes thanks to greater automation and real-time information sharing between all stakeholders with the true integration of Passenger Services Systems, Departure Control Systems and Baggage Reconciliation Systems."

- Ilya Gutlin, SITA Vice President, Airport Solutions Line
